OVERVIEW

Dak Bungalow Films

….is an independent feature film production company focused on developing internationally marketable English-language cinema originating from emerging creative territories.

We specialize in contained, performance-driven films designed to travel across borders — projects positioned between studio genre accessibility and festival-level storytelling.

Our objective is not volume production, but repeatable creation of exportable narrative IP with clear audience positioning and defined distribution pathways

WHY NOW

Global Film Consumption

….has shifted from territory-locked theatrical markets to platform-driven worldwide discovery.

Three structural changes have created a new opportunity:
1. Streamers require differentiated global content
English-language films originating outside traditional production centres now travel widely when positioned correctly.
2. Mid-budget adult dramas have moved out of studios. What studios no longer finance has not disappeared — it has relocated to independent financing and sales-led distribution.
3. Audience discovery is no longer geography-bound
A film’s origin is less important than its accessibility and positioning. Well-packaged films now monetise across multiple territories simultaneously rather than sequentially.

Dak Bungalow Films is built specifically for this environment: controlled budgets, internationally legible storytelling, and sales-aware development from inception.

LONG TERM OBJECTIVE

The Company’s

….long-term goal is to build a recognisable catalogue of internationally performing films and develop repeat financing relationships based on predictable execution rather than one-off production.

A sustainable pipeline of narrative IP — not isolated productions.

MISSION

Market Positioning

Our mandate is to build a slate of films that function simultaneously as artistic works and commercial assets.

We focus on stories that:
Are culturally specific but internationally legible.
Can be produced at disciplined budgets
Appeal to both curated platforms and broad digital distribution
Maintain strong performance and dialogue focus to control production risk.

Rather than competing in the large-budget spectacle space, the company operates in the undersupplied middle market — character-driven genre films capable of crossing from festival exposure into worldwide sales.

PRODUCTION MODEL

We structure Projects

….to minimise capital exposure while preserving upside. Each film is developed with distribution pathways identified early, not after completion.

Our financing approach combines:
Private equity participation.
Territorial pre-sales where applicable.
Strategic packaging to attach marketable elements.
Festival launch positioning to support sales leverage.
Multi-window distribution (festival → sales → platforms).

Budgets are aligned to realistic sales ranges rather than creative ambition alone, ensuring projects are designed to recoup within normal independent market performance bands.

COMPETITIVE EDGE

Dak Bungalow Films

….operates at the intersection of creative development and sales awareness.

Our advantage is not scale — it is alignment.

Development begins with the audience and market in mind: Projects are shaped for discoverability, not retrofitted for it.

Contained storytelling controls downside risk:
Performance-driven narratives reduce dependency on scale-sensitive production variables.

International positioning from inception:
Films are conceived to travel, not adapted to travel later.

Selective slate strategy:
We pursue fewer projects, allowing deeper packaging and clearer market identity per title.
